The end of NFB

No more music!
Odin haluaa meidän lopettavan!

To our fans!

We are writing this message under the heavy heart of a harsh Nordic decree. As followers of the mighty Odin, we have been guided by the ancient gods in all our endeavours. However, our latest act, the sacrificial offering of a holy deer, has displeased the celestial realms. In response, Odin has spoken through the whispers of the old winds: Nordic Frostbite shall perform no more. The stage will remain cold and silent, deprived of our chants and the clang of our guitars.

This is not a decision made lightly, nor with ease of heart. We have revelled in the shared spirit of our concerts, in the communion of music and mythology with all of you. Yet, we must now lay down our instruments and step back into the shadows from whence we came. We implore our loyal fans, our brothers and sisters in spirit, please do not send us letters seeking our return. The gods have spoken, and we must heed their will.

In this new chapter of our lives, we will embrace the simpler pleasures of our ancestors. We are to become professional beer competition drinkers, an honourable and esteemed Viking profession. We will compete with the same fervour with which we once played, albeit in a different arena.

Though Nordic Frostbite will no longer echo in the concert halls, our spirits will roam free in the gusts of the northern wind.

Farewell and may the gods watch over you all, Nordic Frostbite

The Musical Legacy of Nordic Frostbite

Musical Style

Nordic Frostbite's sound was an unexpected fusion of dark, somber death metal and traditional Finnish joiks, creating an atmospheric blend that resonated deep within the soul. Their music, often performed in the ancient Finnish language, brought to life the old Sami myths and chilling tales of the Nordic gods. This unique style not only set them apart from their contemporaries but also solidified their place as icons within the metal genre.

Influences on Other Musicians

"Every chord they struck was like a call to the gods. Without Nordic Frostbite, my music would lack its soulful despair." - Alexi Laiho, guitarist and vocalist.

"When I first heard them play at the Polar Night Festival, I knew metal would never be the same. They didn’t just perform; they transformed." - Tuomas Holopainen, keyboardist and songwriter.

"The raw, unapologetic spirit of Nordic Frostbite inspired me to explore darker themes in my own work. They were true pioneers." - Angela Gossow, former vocalist.

"Nordic Frostbite was more than a band; they were a phenomenon. Their influence seeps through the metal genre like a cold, relentless storm." - Corey Taylor, vocalist and songwriter.

Despite their abrupt departure from the music scene, the legend of Nordic Frostbite continues to influence and inspire musicians and fans alike. Their legacy is carved into the icy landscapes of the North, eternal as the winter night.
