Nordic Frostbite

How it all began...

The legend of the band known as Nordic Frostbite originates from the icy expanses of Northern Finland, in the secluded village of Inari. Comprising a group of exiled Germans, the members found a new home not only in each other but also in the rugged wilderness of the far North.

Their rise to local metal icons began with their first performance at the annual *Polar Night Festival*, where they unveiled an unexpected blend of somber death metal and traditional Finnish joiks.

Their lyrics, penned exclusively in ancient Finnish, narrated old Sami myths and dark legends of the Nordic gods. Bernhard, the lead singer, whose voice was as rough as the Arctic climate, and Timo on guitar, whose riffs seemed to slice through the northern lights, quickly became the talk of the town.

Holger, the drummer, known for his brutal, almost superhuman solos, drove each concert to new intensities. Eike, the bassist, drew attention and shivers with his theatrical stage shows; his trademark act was the moment he bit the heart out of a living reindeer, a nod to ancient shamanic rituals.

This act, controversial as it was, became a symbol of their uncompromising devotion to the darkness of music and the depths of Nordic mythology.

Yet the true legend only began when they decided to step down from the stage. After a final, legendary performance at the *Midnight Sun Festival*, where the sun never set and they played before a sea of burning torches, they vanished without a trace. Rumors of a pact with dark Nordic powers, granting them immortal musical abilities in exchange for their souls, circulated.

More than a decade has passed, and on the rare nights when the wind blows especially icy from the North, the inhabitants of Inari whisper that one can hear the echoes of their music over the frozen lakes. Nordic Frostbite has become more than just a band – it is now part of the Arctic legend, kept alive through whispers and the reverent fear they once instilled in the hearts of their listeners.

Disclaimer - animal welfare

Here at Nordic Frostbite, we understand that our pre-show rituals might cause some raised eyebrows and possibly even a few gasps. But fear not! We wish to assure you that no reindeer were harmed in the making of our music... apart from the minor incidents on the midnight sun festival.

In our defense, please note that every single part of these noble beasts was put to honourable use. Not a scrap went to waste! Our Timo, with the skills of a true culinary wizard, transformed even the gooey bits into delectable feasts, including a scrumptious liver cake that his dear mother, Lieselotte, simply adored.

So, while there may be some controversy surrounding our heartfelt (quite literally) tradition, rest assured that these acts of temporary discomfort to our furry friends significantly contributed to the betterment of local society. Plus, it was always good and clean fun!

Remember, while our methods may seem unorthodox, the spirit of metal —and indeed all great art—is fuelled by pushing boundaries and challenging norms. So come, join us, and experience the wild ride that is Nordic Frostbite, where we keep the spirit of the '80s alive and kicking (and biting).

With all due respect NFB
